Flo's the Place in the Park is a community run social enterprise hub formed in 2018 in a decommissioned children’s centre. It is run by People Place and Participation Ltd, a charitable community benefit society managed by local people for local people

Started by two local women Sandra and Marie who are passionate food activists, community workers and exceptional chefs. Waste2Taste has worked predominantly with homeless people, providing hot meals, cooking classes and volunteer opportunities for work experience and skill development

Oxford Community Action was founded by Hassan, Mujahid and Nigel to tackle and overcome barriers created by structural inequalities (e.g. labour market and ethnic health inequalities) that prevent Black and Minoritised Individuals and Communities from reaching their full potential and enjoying equal representation and participation as active citizens within UK institutions and wider civil society..

OCA have been supporting over 500 families with vital food supplies on a weekly basis. OCA are developing their own social enterprise, with the aim of creating sustainable revenue for their ongoing social outreach work

Oxford Mutual Aid is a community organisation which works to support our peers and neighbours in Oxford, primarily through the provision of food support. Founded to respond to the challenges of the pandemic, we have since become a vital part of Oxford’s aid infrastructure.

We believe that nobody should face food insecurity, or experience stigma for seeking assistance. We do not implement means testing as it is invasive, expensive, and discourages people from seeking help.

Collaboration has always been at the heart of what we do. This is centred upon building systems that source and supply nutritious food to those who need it, reduce food waste and, and support local businesses. Through local supply networks, we can increase the food/supply resilience of our community in a time of uncertainty

Donnington Doorstep is an independent, community-based family centre delivering a range of universal and specialist services.

Set up in 1984 by local parents who knew that caring for children can be hard - we’re a home from home drop-in for children, young people and their families as well as a hub for local community activity.

From our purpose-built centre in East Oxford our activities focus on play, food, support and community development

Oxford City Farm is a community led charity in the heart of East Oxford.

We provide opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to engage with farming and food production, animals, nature and each other.

The food we grow is shared with volunteers and distributed within our local community, enabling us to get fresh produce onto the plates of people who might otherwise have limited access to it.

From our beautiful new Community Kitchen we help people develop the skills and appetite to prepare delicious fresh food - much of which is harvested from Farm. We are looking forward to Community feasts and sharing our kitchen and outdoor space with partners from form the OX4 food crew.

Syrian Sisters is led by Nuha Abdo, a refugee social worker who originally formed the community group to support other refugee women to learn English.

Florence Park Community Centre (FPCC) provides a much-loved and well-used hub for the local diverse community in the Cowley area of East Oxford. Originally built to house workers being brought to the area to work at the new car plant in the 1930’s, and now reflecting the rich diversity of the wider Oxford populace, Florence Park has maintained a strong sense of community. Local people and groups from the wider area including Blackbird Leys and Rose Hill, two of the most highly deprived areas according to the index of deprivation, come together for a variety of activities that create community cohesion and combat social isolation and the worst effects of the cost-of-living crisis. These include drama, arts, health and well-being, lunch clubs, baby and toddler groups, among others. In 2023, the centre was used by more than 17,000 local people and supported by over 30 volunteers.

Cowley Climate Collective (CCC) alongside ARO Cowley aim to build autonomy in our communities to self-organise and self-sustain their needs as a wider community. In a time of escalating social and environmental crises, the understanding that climate justice is social justice is imperative to building support networks. We aim to build sustainable and long-lasting community support and climate resilience in Cowley, understanding that climate catastrophes are innately unequal processes impacting black and brown communities, women, and disabled people disproportionately. Sharing resources, avoiding waste, and building local support networks creates an alternative to the over consumption that fuels environmental crises.

Our values include supporting communities that are marginalised because of class/gender/race, and those disproportionately affected by the climate crisis.

Our main strategy is building alternative systems - autonomy - rooted in revolutionary analysis strategy and context. The more connections we have across other organisations and communities doing this kind of work, the better! The work we do has included mutual aid (Solidarity Days) and political educational events like film nights, teach-ins. We have also hosted/cohosted community meals and iftars. This year, we are planning on doing preparation work to recruit volunteers and planners for our allotment, with a focus on being a resource to support other projects across Oxford, such as the Inter-faith assemblies happening. We prioritise youth, mutual aid (social and food needs), fundraisers and education with a focus on Global South issues.

Integrate Community CIC is a community-led organization dedicated to fostering social cohesion, supporting migrants and newcomers, and promoting cultural exchange and wellbeing within our local communities. Our mission is to create inclusive, welcoming spaces where people from diverse backgrounds can connect, learn, and contribute to society.

Syrian Community in Oxford & Oxfordshire (SYRCOX) is a community organisation that supports local residents experiencing hardship, particularly low-income families, refugees, and vulnerable individuals. Our aim is to improve wellbeing, reduce isolation, and help people access essential support such as food, advice, and community activities.

We run a weekly food parcel service in Blackbird Leys, provide hot meals, and organise community programmes that promote health, inclusion, and skills development. Our values focus on dignity, respect, equality, and community support, ensuring everyone feels welcome and supported regardless of background.
